| Frankfurt Music Prize to Keith Emerson |
The Frankfurt Music Prize 2010 goes to Keith Emerson, keyboarder and founding member of the progressive rock band, Emerson, Lake & Palmer. The presentation will take place at the ‘Römer’, Frankfurt’s Town Hall, on the eve of the Musikmesse, 23 March 2010. The Board of Trustees of the Frankfurt Music Prize describe Keith Emerson as an innovative artist who has not only pushed out the genre’s boundaries with his music but also had a decisive influence on the technology of electronic keyboard instruments through his keyboard playing.

| German Music Instrument Award for bassoon und B-flat trumpet |
The German Musical Instrument Award 2010 goes to two musical-instrument manufacturers from the German states of Saxony and Baden-Württemberg. The Award will be presented during a ceremony at the international Musikmesse in Café Classic, Hall 1.2, on 25 March 2010. The German Musical Instrument Award is given for instruments made in Germany in two categories that are changed every year. This year, it goes to a B-flat trumpet (Ricco Kühn) and a bassoon (Rudolf Walter & Co).

| PPVMedien Reader Awards |
PPVMedien publishing company will present the PPVMedien Reader Awards for the 6th time at Musikmesse 2010. What makes these awards so special is that the winning products are chosen by the readers of Drumheads, Guitar, Keys, Tastenwelt and Soundcheck magazines. Feedback cannot be more direct because it is the users themselves who choose the year’s best instruments and equipment. The presentation will be held in Saal XY of Congress Centre Messe Frankfurt at 16.00 hrs on 24 March 2010.

| DJ Tools Award 2010 |
Germany’s first award for DJ equipment. During the international Musikmesse Frankfurt 2010, Musikmesse and Elevator present the first award for DJ equipment in Germany – the DJ Tools Award. The winners will be selected by a prominent jury on the Musikmesse Public Day (Saturday, 27 March 2010). The preliminary round is in full swing.

Fender with new products and big programme of product demonstrations and appearances by artists

At Musikmesse 2010, Fender presents not only its normal assortment but also all new products for 2010. Additionally, there will be a big programme of demonstrations and appearances by artists at the Fender stand in Hall 4.0 (stand E08). A sound cabin will be available especially for this purpose.

| The Eigenharp from Eigenlabs |
When, in 2009, they presented their unusual instrument, the Eigenharp, to a wider public for the first time, the British company Eigenlabs from Exeter, county town of Devon in the south west of England, spoke of the biggest musical revolution of the last 60 years. John Lambert and his team have been working since 2001 on the development of this striking instrument, which looks like an extended guitar neck without the sounding box.

Musikmesse presents Premier Guitar Special Edition 2010
|
Musikmesse presents a special edition of the US-magazine Premier Guitar. Read all about guitars, amplifiers and accessories. Premier Guitar shows in review the hottest gear of Musikmesse 2009, introduces the latest products from Musikmesse 2010 and publishes the first test reports. In addition, the special edition lists all exhibitors in the field of guitars, basses and amplifiers. During Musikmesse, all leading manufacturers in the guitars, basses and amplifiers sector exhibit their products in Halls 4.0 and 4.1.
The huge range of products at the fair is rounded off by a host of stars who demonstrate the instruments live. Especially on Public Day, the last day of the fair, Hall 4 is always full to overflowing with major and minor stars who present the instruments in action or give autographs. Obtain an initial overview of the range of guitars to be seen at Musikmesse 2010.
