| Media Systems Congress – the information event at Media Systems Prolight + Sound |
Media Systems Congress, the biggest information event during the fair, is part of Media Systems Prolight + Sound. It will be held in the ‘Portalhaus’ building next to Hall 11 and is open to trade visitors free of charge. Seminars, lectures, panel discussions and presentations at which speakers explain and present systems, solutions, services, standards and legal issues from the fields of systems integration, media technology and network technology, will take place daily from 24 to 26 March 2010 between 09.45 and 17.15 hrs. This is the first time that the Media Systems Congress is to be held in the new ‘Portalhaus’.
The complete programme has now been published on the Media System Congress Homepage. The congress speakers draw on their own practical experience and can thus provide first-hand information of direct relevance to visitors. Although the congress is aimed primarily at planners, systems integrators and architects, it is also open to all other visitors of Media Systems Prolight + Sound and Prolight + Sound with an interest in the subjects being discussed.
In 2010, the Media Systems Congress will once again be supplemented by a Manufacturers' Forum where exhibitors present technologies, processes and solutions from the field of systems integration. The aim of the Manufacturers' Forum is to generate new impulses for the segments involved, to boost interdisciplinary communication and to provide information about new developments and areas of application. The focus of the Manufacturers' Forum is on the presentation of ideas for solutions and practical examples of the use to which products and services can be put.
During the congress, ALMA – The International Loudspeaker Association – will offer insights into its activities in the fields of loudspeaker research, the definition of standards and performance regulations. ALMA is the international association of loudspeaker manufacturers, acousticians and scientists specialising in the research and development of loudspeaker technology.
The Association of German Sound Engineers (Verband Deutscher Tonmeister – VDT) will make a presentation at the congress for the first time. The VDT is Germany’s most important association for those working in the sound and tone sector. In the lectures, the VDT will provide insights into the latest developments in the acoustics sector, as well as about studio technology and trends in film, television, theatre, research and development in terms of both technological and artistic aspects.
There will also be a Congress Blog with audio-visual recordings of speakers, themes and opinions. Thus visitors who are unable to attend the lectures will be able to catch up on the topics after the fair. The Media Systems Prolight + Sound Blog can be found here
