Sinus Award winners in four categories: from TV studio kitchen to Formula 1 race track

The ‘Sinus – Systems Integration Award’ is presented during Media Systems Prolight +Sound for the extraordinary and creative use of integration and media technology. The award-winning projects are chosen from the fields of museums, education or ‘edutainment’ areas, event areas and entertainment. In line with the professional areas of application, the Award is given in the categories Entertainment, Business, Venue and Information.

Sinus has a real treat in store in the Entertainment category: the TV studio kitchen of renowned German chef, Johann Lafer, has been selected for the award as an example of the creative use of media technology and systems integration. Johann Lafer was not only the customer but also played an active role in the planning and implementation of the various technical facilities. He will accept the award personally. Additionally, the people and companies involved in the product will also receive a Sinus. They are AV Integrator Walter Jünkering, the Fraunhofer Institute, Bernd Klein (CIBEK Technology + trading GmbH) and Jörg Gehlers as architect and lighting planner.
Communicating knowledge via multi-media and interactive devices is gaining popularity in museums and exhibitions. In the Information category, the Sinus is awarded to exhibitions and ‘edutainment’ areas that make use of modern technology to provide a completely new museum experience. This year, the award in this category goes to Michael Staats of Amptown Systems Company for Klimahaus Bremerhaven exhibition hall.

An unparalleled project and the people behind it are to be honoured with a Sinus in the Venue category. The Formula 1 race track in Abu Dhabi presented a whole new set of challenges. The scope and complexity of the project alone are extraordinary. A Sinus Award goes to Romano Hammer, ITEC and Günther Hiss, PKE Electronics, for the realisation of a PA system suitable for transmitting commentary and music to all places along the track.

Introducing children to technology is the aim of the ‘Children’s World’ project at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt. The following people and companies have been selected for a Sinus in the Business category for their work on this project:
- Wolfgang Vogt, Head of IT Planning, Multimedia Audi AG
- Pirmin Anselmann, Architect
- Achim Hannemann, Screen New Technologies

The Sinus Awards will take place in Portalhaus, Room ‘Frequenz 1 + 2’, at 18.30 hrs on the first day of the fair, 24 March 2010.
